Hosted by Darlene Lebron of Suits, Heels and Curves, the event was to celebrate and empower plus size women with physical activity and affirmation as well as fashion and beauty advice. There was a panel discussion on confidence with Marcy Cruz of Fearlessly Just Me, Ally Gursky of Candied Curves, Rosaliz Jimenez of StyleWatch Magazine and Sasha Renee. Jessie Diaz of CurvesWithMoves showed us some dance/exercise moves. Ada Rojas of Gypsy in the City dispensed advice about makeup (and answered my question on sweat-proof foundation by recommending L’Oreal’s Inffalible Pro-Matte… which other attendees agreed with) and Steffany Allen talked about buiding a wardrobe we could love and how to incorporate color and prints. There was also Sahar Paz, author of “Find Your Voice” and her stepdaughter, Valeria Serenil, tween vlogger at Suits, Heels and Curves who is poised and remarkably confident.
The workshop was fun, educational and inspirational. I look forward to next year’s event on March 11, 2017.
